Looking for applicants for our weekend day shifts and 3 swing shifts 4pm-Midnight on Mon,Tues,Wed.

Rising Peak Academy is a long-term residential program that provides young men ages 13-18 the opportunities and motivation to succeed in life while dealing with co-occurring disorders including addiction and behavioral issues. Located on the edge of Glacier Park in Northwest Montana, we focus on healthy activity, academics, counseling and life-skills that establish a foundation of recovery in each and every client that attends our program.

This position reports to the Residential Manager and works on the day, evening and night shifts. General responsibilities include; supervision of residents, periodic room checks, security of grounds, resident monitoring, transportation, recreation, off-site activities, and supports after hours in-take process at Rising Peak Academy. The employee is required to work independently and under minimal supervision after training.

This particular position requires someone that is willing to do weekend hiking, camping, fishing and outdoor adventures with the young men. Experience in this area is required.

Specific Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Performs security rounds of the campus throughout the shift including checking all doors and exits in the buildings and ensuring the grounds are secure.

Ensures patients perform therapeutic responsibilities including housekeeping, treatment plans and academics before lights out.

Follow and enforces rules and disciplinary procedures of the residents. Reports in writing all inappropriate behaviors.

When a resident tries to initiate an individual counseling session, refers the resident to his assigned counselor. Talks to residents informally and gives instructions to comply with some guidance however is not responsible for direct counseling.

Provides for the safety and welfare of patients after lights out by making facility and ground checks between throughout the night.

In the event of a medical/clinical emergency or natural disaster (i.e. fire, earthquake, flood), technicians safeguard lives and take appropriate action to get outside help.

Facilitates the in-take process with new arriving patients after 5:00 p.m. including hospitality, search, and documentation

Attends all inservice trainings, staffings and residential staff meetings as directed by the Director.

Performs clerical functions including copying, preparing clinical charts, answering phones as requested.

Writes incident reports for any accidents during shift.

Participates in Quality Assurance functions as assigned.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

A high-school diploma is preferred but not required

Must demonstrate an aptitude for empathy with residents

If in recovery, must have at least one year of sobriety/abstinence

Ability to effectively communicate in person and in writing

Should possess high energy, attention to detail, and the ability to organize effectively.

A valid driver's license and the ability to travel and work nights and weekends as necessary.

Demonstrates the following skills:

o Giving objective feedback

Supervision provided through:

Facility quality assurance activities

Direct observation

Staff meetings/inservices

Individual meetings as needed

Disciplinary and grievance procedures

Annual performance appraisal

Must be able to pass a background and drug test.
