CAMRIS is seeking exceptional candidates for the Bioinformatics Scientist positions. S/he will support the mission of The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and The National Institutes of Health (NIH) by conducting and supporting basic, translational and clinical research to better understand, treat, and ultimately prevent infectious, immunologic, and allergic diseases at the Rocky Mountain Laboratories in Hamilton, Montana. This is a forecasted position and it is contingent upon contract award. Responsibilities For Junior Roles, Duties Include: Provide programming and troubleshoot support to the Federal Government in the dissemination of research data. Perform computation on research data analysis. Work with staff on scientific programming and experimental design. Record observations and reports results at weekly laboratory meetings. Provide statistical support/analysis on research data. Provide research/service goals in the context of the laboratory's overall mission. For Mid-Level Roles, Duties Include: Provide programming and troubleshooting support to the Federal Government in the dissemination of research data. Perform computation on research data analysis. Work with staff on scientific programming and experimental design. Record observations and reports results at weekly laboratory meetings. Provide statistical support/analysis on research data. Provide research/service goals in the context of the laboratory's overall mission. Evaluate new types of experimental approaches to protocols based on knowledge of scientific literature, available facilities and research needs. For Senior Roles, Duties Include: Provide programming and troubleshooting support to the Federal Government in the dissemination of research data. Perform computation on research data analysis. Work with staff on scientific programming and experimental design. Record observations and reports results at weekly laboratory meetings. Provide statistical support/analysis on research data. Provide research/service goals in the context of the laboratory's overall mission. Evaluate new types of experimental approaches to protocols based on knowledge of scientific literature, available facilities and research needs. Independently coordinate the training of personnel in the use of scientific software applications, statistical software applications and programmatic software applications. Deliver at least one presentation per year to audiences outside the Government. Initiate interdisciplinary collaborations with other research centers. Qualifications For Junior Level Roles: Minimum Education: Master's degree in a science related field is required. Minimum Experience: 1-3+ years of experience in a related field. Basic knowledge of computer science, system analysis, and systems programming. Extensive knowledge of how to use MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with C, C, and Java. Sound knowledge of bioinformatics approaches to analyze. For Mid-Level Roles: Minimum Education: Master's degree in a science related field is required. Minimum Experience: 3-4+ years of experience in a related field. Basic knowledge of computer science, system analysis, and systems programming. Extensive knowledge of how to use MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with C, C, and Java. Sound knowledge of bioinformatics approaches to analyze. For Senior Roles: Minimum Education: Ph.D. in a science related field is required. Minimum Experience: 5-8+ years of experience in a related field. Basic knowledge of computer science, system analysis, and systems programming. Extensive knowledge of how to use MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with C, C, and Java. Sound knowledge of bioinformatics approaches to analyze.
