Camp Mak A Dream is needing housekeepers. To clean and maintain the Gold Creek facility with the goal of creating an orderly and safe environment for all participants. This position is per diem.
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to work within a budget
Basic computer skills is required
Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements:
Ability to work independently
Strong organizational and communication skills
Physical ability to lift and carry 30 pounds
Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to appropriately to environmental and other hazards of the site/facilities as well as camper and staff behavior
Physical mobility and endurance to perform tasks while standing/walking for long periods of time (60 minutes or more)
Key responsibilities:
Perform a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, laundry, bathrooms, washing/folding linens, and washing windows
Assist with Kitchen duties as needed including washing dishes, setting up before/cleaning up after meals and cleaning the kitchen.
Work with Facilities Director to arrange for the routine maintenance, sanitation, security and upkeep of the facilities
Work within approved budget, and notify Facilities Director of activities outside of planned budget
Work with the program team and Facilities Director in overseeing the preparation of campus for the camp season and in reviewing the safety procedures to ensure they meet the changing needs of camp. Assist in training summer staff in sanitation protocol
Clearly and consistently communicate with housekeeping team and Facilities Director per established practices re: priorities for cleaning, process made during worked shift and areas/projects still needing attention
Ensure all areas are cared for and inspected according to standards
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and safety
Promote practices that seek to reduce waste, reuse items, and recycle as much as possible
Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and linens
Performance of other duties as necessary
