Great Beginnings Montessori (GBMS) offers week-long summer camps for children ages 3-12 starting at 8am and running through 4pm, Monday Thursday. We offer three camps: Bumblebee Camp (ages 2-3); Huckleberry Camp (preschool ages 3-6), and Yurt Camp Camp with 1st - 5th grade (ages 6-10).
We are hiring 6 summer instructors. Summer Camp instructors have the opportunity to work for one specific camp/ age group with reduced enrollment/ Covid-19 best practices. There will be closed "loops" with 10 children + 2 instructors, and there will be no/ limited interaction with any other groups. If re-opening phases are lifted for the state of Montana, there can be the opportunity to float between several camps.
Instructors for the Yurt Camp travel with the children (ages 1st - 5th grade) must be 21+ and have an excellent driving record. Instructors also have the option to commit to specific weeks of summer programming, and do not have to commit for the entire summer.
GBMS Summer Camps take advantage of Montana's beautiful weather while supporting our students' continuing academic and social development. With smaller, intimate groups, we're able to focus on building friendships, getting outside, supporting individuals, and offering plenty of fun! Each week focuses on fun activities blending environmental education, outdoor adventure, art, academics, and summertime fun.
Essential Job Functions:
Deliver a fun program to campers;
A positive and enthusiastic attitude, a plus;
During the program, instructors participate in classroom, outdoor, and recreational activities;
Instructors assist with weekly themes, field trips, and nature-based activities.
Because of the Covid-related protocols, instructors will need to be flexible with duties including sanitizing, hygiene, and staying with one group of children for the entire day, and responding to their needs (which will vary).

Qualifications/Requirements
Teachers, artists and outdoor educators are the strongest candidates. College graduates preferred, college and high school students ages 16+ considered.
Experience working with PreK-5th grade children;
Demonstrated leadership experience;
Flexible, trustworthy, creative and positive; someone who works well in teams.
Commitment to Montessori education - is energetic, organized, communicative, fun-loving, and a good problem-solver;
Current certification required in First-Aid and CPR, lifeguard certification a plus;
Excellent driving record.
Duration: Weekly June 8th August 21st. Camp runs 4-days per week, Monday-Thursday. Work schedules are 7:45am - 4:15pm or 8am - 4pm. Day Camp starts June 15th and ends August 20th, 2020.
Salary range: $12 - $16/ hour, dependent on experience
