TITLE:
Safety Manager CSP Preferred
LOCATION:
St. Louis, MO
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the development and execution of health and safety plans and the corporate safety program for data center construction and operations across the US.
Establish health and safety plans according to legal guidelines in the areas of construction and data center operations
Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety
Communicate safety guidelines to a multidisciplinary workforce
Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law
Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention as needed
Create and maintain new hire training as well as ongoing safety training and development
Develop and enforce site specific training and orientation guidelines
Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions
Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle workers compensation claims
Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures
Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics including OSHA log reporting
Complete and maintain state licensing and registration requirements
Assist with corporate risk management assessments and insurance requirements for company and vendors
QUALIFICATIONS:
5+ years of experience as a Safety Manager, data center industry or construction experience preferred
CSP Preferred
BS in Safety Management or related field preferred
Valid qualification in occupational health and safety required
Knowledge of construction planning, mechanical or electrical systems necessary, building controls, fire systems, and security systems preferred
Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines required
Ability in producing reports and developing relevant policies
Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment required
Candidate must possess strong communication skills, the ability to lead coordination meetings and actively facilitate progress in order to achieve scheduled goals
Qualified candidate will be able to work cooperatively with internal administration groups, and effectively contend with customers and contractors to ensure safety standards are met
Candidate must have people skills, good judgment, and flexibility
Excellent organizational and motivational skills required
Travel to project sites and various company locations as required
Proficiency with MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
