Intermountain is a non-profit agency that has been impacting the lives of children and families for over 100 years and we are currently looking for a Nurse for our Residential Facility in Helena.Overview:Nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, our Intensive Residential services are designed for girls and boys, ages 4-13 on admission. Thirty-two children live in four cottages on a 40 acre campus in the capital city of Helena, Montana. The length of stay varies from 15 ? 20 months.Our highly integrated, intermediate residential services structure daily living experiences, clinical therapies and academics, and facilitate optimum healing opportunities. Treatment includes clinical and educational assessments, individualized treatment plans, individual, group and family therapies, medication management, an accredited on-campus school offering a full spectrum of educational services, and a variety of outdoor and community activities.Some of the challenges our clients may have are:

Emotional dysregulation

Depression

Anxiety

Intractable anger

Adoption issues

Attachment and relationship issues

ADD, ADHD

PTSD

Impulsivity, including lying and stealing

Oppositionality and/or defiance

Aggression towards self and others

School problems ? Loss and grief issues

Poor social skills, and social development

High functioning Autistic Spectrum Disorder

Peer relationships

Summary:The Residential Nurse coordinates all in-house staff, pediatricians, pharmacists, psychiatrists, dentists, nutritionists, and others in caring for the physical well-being of the children served by Intermountain. The Residential Nurse assesses potential admissions, provides nursing assessments and medical care to children at Intermountain, and addresses both clinical and administrative issues that arise within this provision of care. The Residential Nurse is responsible to train staff or arrange for training of residential staff in relevant areas of medical health and education and training relative to the prevention and control of community and nosocomial infections. The Residential Nurse is responsible for the generation of reports pertaining to medical care of children in Intermountain?s Residential Program. Tracking of data is a primary duty. Communicates deficiencies to the appropriate parties and follows up on correction of such deficiencies.The Residential Nurse is also responsible for documentation of identified infections, data collection and review, and initiating appropriate actions in response to identified infections. Generates reports of pertinent data and presents information to appropriate parties. Responsible for ongoing assessment of and update of policy and procedure per all applicable licensing and accrediting bodies.The above knowledge, skills and abilities are acquired through graduation from an accredited school of nursing. A bachelor's degree is desirable. Previous nursing experience, including public health or school health, preferred. Must be eligible to obtain a Registered Nurse license from the State of Montana and secure this within two months of hire.
