PDS Tech is seeking a Stress Engineer in St. Louis, MO

The Stress (Analysis) Engineer will develop, analyze, design and establish test procedures for aero-structure products and airframe structure for a variety of internal and external customers

Design and analyze details of mechanically fastened and bonded joints for both composite and metallic airframe structures.

Support the design and development of 3D CATIA datasets and/or 2D drawings

Integrate technical, cost, value, and safety considerations into the product definition to comply with customer, regulatory and company requirements and document results in drawings, datasets, reports specifications and supporting data

Interface with other members of project or program team, management and manufacturing staff to develop producible products that reduce process times, rework, and scrap

Interface with customers and suppliers to achieve cost effective, technically sound and functionally superior product.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program.

8+ years metals and/or composite analysis experience in an aero-structure design/manufacturing environment.

Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Experience with CATIA V4/V5 a plus.

Experience with FEM (Finite Element Method) packages which includes Nastran / Patran and /or other packages such as ANSYS.

Experience with hand calculations and template use/applications

Willingness to travel in support of the development effort

Preferred Qualifications:

Composites and Metallic experience

Patran or Nastran

Previous Large Aircraft or Fighter Jet experience is a plus.

Required:

Must be a US citizen able to hold secret level security clearance.
