Position Summary:CertainTeed Siding is looking for a Warehouse Supervisor to ensure efficient, accurate, and timely warehouse operations for their Jackson, MI location. These operations include worker’s safety, receiving, storage, order picking, shipping, inventory management, and warehouse facility (space) management. This position is accountable for scheduling the appropriate staff, and monitoring progress and results of the shift. The Warehouse Supervisor reports to the Warehouse Manager.Responsibilities:

Support a safe working environment in area of responsibility at all times by correcting or reporting unsafe acts or conditions through appropriate channels of resolution. Perform accident investigations, complete required paperwork, and perform necessary follow-up as required.

All facets of people management, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Scheduling and utilization of people to result in optimum productivity (e.g., sensible use of overtime).

Organizing, scheduling, and dispatching daily work assignments, staging space, and dock facilities to maximize efficient material flow.

Reviewing options and optimizing resources for space, equipment and time with customer demand.

Contributing to continuous improvement efforts by implementing process improvements as well as serving on employee project teams within plant and beyond.

Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all inventory balances and data records; including administrating the cycle count program and investigating discrepancies and errors.

Entering invoices into SAP in a timely manner.

Minimum of a high school degree or equivalency; 2 or 4-year college education would be beneficial.

Previous experience working in a distribution in a supervisory capacity is highly desirable.

Knowledge including: principles of inventory control utilizing SAP as the WMS, the functionality of specialized warehouse equipment, and familiarity with standard shipping documentation.

A solid understanding of process improvement methods, and be capable of directing a staff of up to twenty people.

Proficient in MS Office, especially Word and Excel.
