Fabrication Shop Mechanic (Long Beach)

The Fabrication Shop Mechanic will be working in our fabrication shop located in Long Beach, MS. This person will be responisble for equipment maintenance, inventory management and purchasing. All candidates must be mechanically inclined and may be required to complete a mechanical aptitude test prior to being hired.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Accurately diagnose and repair equipment (ie. forklifts, trailers, welding machines etc.) as well as other various brands of equipment used by the construction industry.

Rebuild or replace varoius types of powertrain or hydraulic components.

Maintain a professional appreanceand demeanor at all times while on duty.

Align with safety compliance per company policy.

Performs repair and maintenance operations necessary to prevent breakdown and major overhauls on machines tools, fabrication machines and welding equipment such as hydraulic presses, radial drill presses, shears, punch press and equipment of similar complexity.

Maintain a clean work environment and properly care for shop equipment and specialty tools provided.

Prepares and Maintains records and reports accurately

Performs other related duties are required.

Adapt to "Lean" methods and practices.

Skills and Abilities:

Mechanically Inclined

Knowledge of equipment maintenance and standards.

Organization and Communication Skills

Ability to lead a project through completion.

Capable of lifting and moving 50 lbs.

Reading, Writing and Arithmetic skills required

Computer skills (inventory management software is a plus)

Familiar with warehouse safety precautions and procedures
