As a LECO Optical Field Service Engineer; you will provide service primarily in the Midwest with more extensive travel on an as-needed basis. The ideal candidate will live near St. Joseph, MI.

You will visit domestic customer locations to:

Provide preventive/general maintenance, breakdown repair, troubleshooting and corrective actions to hardness testing and optical instrumentation.

Perform new instrumentation installations as well as updates and upgrade kit installations.

Provide training on theory, operation, software and good maintenance practices.

Ensure the work above is performed in accordance with LECOs ISO accreditation and ASTM standards.

Position Requirements:

Self-motivated with strong communication skills (both written and verbal).

Ability to work remotely with limited supervision while adhering to LECO policies.

Detail oriented with strong organizational skills. Maintain accurate inventory records and provide legibly written service reports, checklists, expense reports, activity reports, & vehicle logs.

Comply with LECOs safety, health and training policies.

Attend instrumentation training at LECO Corporation in St. Joseph, Michigan for a period of 4-6 months.

Complete field service training with experienced field service engineers throughout the country.

Attend annual service training at LECO Corporation in St. Joseph, Michigan.

Ability to travel (to include flying) on a daily basis with up to four overnight hotel stays per week (Monday “ Friday) depending upon workload and location.

Possess a valid drivers license with a clean driving record.

Pass a background check and substance abuse screenings.

Must be authorized to work in the US without restriction.

Should have a personal credit card, or the ability to obtain one.

Strong mechanical skills.

Previous experience with AC and DC electronics, or the ability to learn.

Metallography or military background is advantageous, but not required.
