Position Outline: Support technicians are the front lines of the customer technical experience. They provide top of the line telephone and web based support for the clients that we serve. Your goal in this position is to use all of the tools available to you to provide world class support to our clients. You need to be able to remotely diagnose computers, network issues, printer issues, servers, backups, and other computer / network administration and support tasks. Our clients count on us to deliver them answers when they need help. That's Hassle Free IT.

Key Responsibilities:

Work with clients to resolve technical cases. Requires great communication skills to be able to bridge the gap between tech speak and normal person speak.ÂÂ

Quickly and efficiently identify practical solutions to technical issues. Requires a strong technical and analytical ability. You need to understand Windows based networks and common troubleshooting steps, and have the ability to research and come up with creative solutions where needed.Â

Continually grow your knowledge base. You need to be able to learn quickly. You will be exposed to some cutting edge technology used by our clients. You need to be willing to learn how to use it.Â

Desired Skills and Experience:

Understanding of Windows based networks including servers, workstations, and core networking concepts

Understanding of routers, switches, firewalls, and other basic networking equipment, specifically related to installation and troubleshooting.

Understanding of printers, scanners, and other standard IT peripherals, specifically related to installation and troubleshooting.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to maintain professionalism in challenging situations

Excellent organizational skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment independently and meet aggressive deadlines

Ability to work independently, self-starter

Ability to work with technical teams and internal teams to ensure client success

Experience with Microsoft Office

Experience with ConnectWise and/or LabTech

Understand workstation and server operating systems. This includes Windows 7, 8, and 10 along with Server 2008 R2 and Server 2012 R2. Examples include:

Configure and troubleshoot shared drives and resources such as printers.

Configure and troubleshoot user accounts and file permissions.

Configure and troubleshoot software installations.

Configure and troubleshoot Active Directory environments.

Configure and troubleshoot RAID configurations.

Understand network devices along with standard troubleshoot. This includes routers, switches, firewalls, printers, and any IP connected devices. Examples include:

Configure and troubleshoot internet connections.

Configure and troubleshoot local network.

Configure and troubleshoot basic firewall functionality.

Configure and troubleshoot printers and other IP connected devices.

Understand common Anti-Virus technical issues, including:

Configure and troubleshoot installation.

Configure and troubleshoot Exclusions and Quarantined files.

Understand common backup technologies and methodologies

Compensation Plan: The position is salary plus benefits, profit sharing, retirement plan, and an expense account. The salary is evaluated each year at your annual review, and there are great growth opportunities with our team. Compensation includes:

Location: This position is at our Michigan Operations Center located at 34350 23 Mile Road, Suite C, Chesterfield, MI 48047. The position is full time and during normal business hours Monday - Friday.

Probationary Period: The first 90 days of employment is considered to be probationary and a training period. The probationary period will be considered complete (possibly ahead of 90 days), if the individual can demonstrate satisfactory results in the key responsibility areas listed above.
