We are looking for hard working, motivated, organized, honest, positive leaders to manage our historic Inn & Motel on the shores of Little Glen Lake in Empire, MI. The position is open immediately, is year-round with a VERY busy summer season and a quieter winter season. This is NOT a job that will be completed with a standard 40 hour work week in the peak season nor will it require 40 hours/week in the off season. It is a salaried position, starting pay is $35,000/yr with a combination of salary/hourly for partners. This is a great opportunity for a couple to live and work in Leelanau County. Daily tasks may include but are not limited to:
Oversee daily operations and systems at the Inn
Create weekly schedule
Leading a team of housekeepers to clean and tidy guest rooms
Managing linen rooms and inventory therein
Perform maintenance and upkeep on the property
Answering phones to take reservations and answer questions
Checking in guests, taking payments, communicating facility amenities and restrictions
Acting as guest concierge providing local recommendations and directions
Closing the front office at the end of the day
Being on call for guests who may need assistance outside of office hours
Reporting to general manager
The ideal candidate(s) will have exemplary communication skills, be able to communicate clearly with guests and management - on the phone and in person. Applicant must be computer literate, be a self-motivated problem solver and be physically able to clean rooms, process linens and perform moderate maintenance tasks. The chosen candidates will live a clean lifestyle (smoking and drug use prohibited). Hospitality experience and references will be highly considered.
