Details:
The primary responsibility of a Package Handler is to ensure the accurate and efficient movement of packages within the sortation hub as directed while complying with all company safety standards.
Shifts are anticipated as follows: shifts available 7 days per week and are between the hours of 4:30 pm and 10 pm
Functions & Responsibilities
Unload trucks as directed and ensure that all packages are safely transferred to appropriate conveyor belt(s) for sorting.
Accurately utilize scanners to track parcel information.
Follow appropriate sorting protocol to ensure the accurate transfer of all packages along the conveyer belt and within the warehouse.
Accurately load parcels into gaylord boxes and on pallets.
Using required equipment, move gaylord boxes and pallets within the warehouse.
Accurately store packages and pallets for loading onto appropriate delivery trucks.
Load packages, pallets and gaylord boxes onto trucks as directed.
Perform all task within established deadlines.
Safely operate mechanical equipment to move packages and pallets within the warehouse.
Maintain required material equipment handling certification as required by OSHA.
Proactively engage and comply with all company and OSHA safety guidelines at all times.
Attend safety meetings as required and notify management immediately of any unsafe working conditions.
Perform daily maintenance and charging of all mechanical equipment.
Work efficiently and in partnership with colleagues to ensure client satisfaction and company success.
Actively support a clean, safe, and hazard free warehouse and parking lot at all times, including general housekeeping tasks such as sweeping, unpacking, and trash cleanup.
May assist in the orientation of newly hired package handlers.
Other tasks as assigned.
