Job DescriptionThe Director of Procurement, Corporate Services will lead the development and execution of complex global category plans, encompassing multi-divisional business priorities, regional specificity and operational requirements, that deliver ongoing value and return for the Organization. This role will manage a spend portfolio of at least $500M, comprised of various complex services spend categories including: Professional Services, Business Process Outsourcing, Financial Services, and other services categories as required. Responsible for cross divisional alignment, sourcing and contracting activities to leverage Thermo Fisher Scientific’s total Corporate Services spend totaling $1B per year.Key Responsibilities:
Establish executive level business partnerships across groups, divisions which influence business priorities and drive best in class sourcing decisions
Develop and lead the execution of multi-year category sourcing strategy(ies) for portfolio of spend under management
Lead cross-functional strategic sourcing teams that include representation from the internal customer, finance, legal, and the end user community
Delivery of Market research, Data analysis and financial modeling and trending to support category management recommendations that will drive optimal value to the organization
Instill stakeholder confidence in Procurement function by demonstrating firm understanding of business requirements, category trends and market impacts
Drive a measurable reduction in year over year total cost of ownership for all assigned categories
Manage supplier qualification, RFP, supplier selection, contract development, implementation, compliance, and ongoing supply management processes as they pertain to corporate services
Conduct regular reviews of supplier scorecards and operational metrics to drive continuous improvement of corporate services suppliers
Leverage e-sourcing and spend analysis tools to drive incremental year over year cost savings
Lead process improvement initiatives across procurement and business groups to create efficiencies in practice for all sourcing related activity
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
A minimum of a 4-year undergraduate college degree in Business or Finance; Master’s degree preferred
A minimum seven years’ experience in sourcing various professional services including, but not limited to business process outsourcing, professional services/consulting/financial services.
Ability to influence C-Level stakeholders and instill confidence in function
Proven track record of success in developing category strategies that deliver year over year savings and value
Exceptional ability to engage cross functional teams and influence decision making process. Must be able to navigate a complex organization structure to solve problems inherent in large scale supplier implementations
Advanced contract negotiation skills, including those service providers whose product may be intangible, difficult suppliers, complex contracts
Demonstrated experience with successfully developing and executing multi-year sourcing category strategies in complex areas of spend
Strong analytical skills required
Strong knowledge of the strategic sourcing process and practical application of the process to sourcing projects
Strong influencing, project management and change management skills
Strong computer technology skills
Excellent teamwork skills
Must be able to work within all functions and levels of an organization.
