Job Description

Provide overall leadership, strategy and direction for the Value Communications and Scientific Partnerships team, assuming responsibility for scientific publications, presentations, field tools and internal stakeholder training across all marketed and pipeline products. Develop materials for use by field teams to demonstrate drug value for stakeholder meetings, including adaptation of global materials into affiliate-specific slide decks and objection handlers; and translate outcomes into meaningful messages for internal and external stakeholders. Develop Health Outcomes Research/RWE expertise within affiliates through regular training (including US MVLs, affiliate Market Access & Medical leads). Develop Global Value Dossiers and support regional dossier development. Lead the development and dissemination of publications, symposiums, webinars etc. led by CoEs and TA teams to establish Biogen as a thought leader in this space.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Accountable for strategy-setting, operational planning and execution of value communications for all Biogen’s marketed and pipeline products, partnering with other cross-functional leaders

2. Partner with leadership in V&A, affiliate market access teams, and HEOR TA leads to develop materials for use by field teams to demonstrate drug value for stakeholder meetings, including adaptation of global materials into affiliate-specific slide decks and objection handlers.

3. Apply in-depth knowledge of HEOR and RWE strategy communications to develop Health Outcomes Research/RWE expertise within affiliates through regular training (including US MVLs, affiliate Market Access & Medical leads) and development of appropriate training materials, in partnership with TA and CoE leads.

4. Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive communications plan for each TA, including publications, abstracts/posters, conference planning, symposiums, webinars, etc. led by CoEs and TA teams to establish Biogen as a thought leader in this space.

5. Manage budget, staffing, and performance management duties for the Value Communications and Scientific Partnerships team. Mentor direct and indirect reports on development planning and possibilities for their careers.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (PhD or Masters) in pharmacy administration, HEOR, public health, epidemiology or related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in HEOR/RWE within consulting, CRO or pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
  • Recognized in the industry for a deep understanding of HEOR and RWE issues, and how they relate to demonstrating and disseminating drug value
  • Strong record of increasing organizational visibility and reputation through scientific communications and publications
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and present complex and/or new ideas with clarity and simplicity
  • Ability to build, convincingly communicate and execute strategic and operational plans for a global function.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills to all employment levels and executive leadership teams
