Participation in the nursing process by sharing in assessment of patients, planning of patient care, implementing the patient care plan, and evaluating patient care.

Providing for emotional and spiritual needs and for safety of patients.

Notifying appropriate person about unusual symptoms and/or changes in condition of patient.

Giving and receiving report.

Performing nursing procedures for which the nurse is prepared.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited, approved school of nursing. Current registration with State Board of Nurse Examiners.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Will receive in-service training in special areas.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Good physical and mental health. Finger and hand dexterity to handle and manipulate instruments and equipment. Visual and auditory acuity to detect changes in patients' conditions. Must be able to lift and/or carry a minimum of fifty (50) lbs. Must be able to push and pull carts at a minimum of one hundred (100) lbs., and continuously walk, sit and stand. Must be able to turn, crouch, kneel, stoop, bend below waist, and reach above shoulder height as tasks dictate. Must use good body mechanics.
