SUMMARY

We’re currently hiring a Part-Time HR Generalist at our seafood processing plant in New Bedford, MA. This position will report to the HR department in Boston.

At North Coast the HR Generalist is responsible for applying business knowledge and human resource expertise to our business. It is both a strategic and hands-on role, doing everything from coaching managers, to answering HR related questions and requests, to onboarding employees. They play a key role in the success of the organization by offering guidance on recruitment, terminations, performance management, employee relations and HR best practices, while facilitating a positive relationship between personnel and the leadership team. They understand the culture at North Coast and work hard to promote a positive employee experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

First point of contact for general employee questions around policies and procedures

Coordinates the hiring process, posting jobs, scheduling interviews, communicating with new hire

Facilitates employee onboarding, orientation, background checks and drug screens

Performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, and communicating benefit information to employee

Communicates HR initiatives and ensures employee assessments are completed and administered on schedule

REQUIREMENTS

3+ years of Human Resources experience

Bilingual English & Spanish

Employee relations exposure

Familiar with basic HR policy and procedure

Understanding of HR best practices and current regulations

Excellent organizational skills

Excellent communication skills, verbal and written

A knack for problem solving, using sound judgement

Growth-oriented and adaptable to change

Experience with ADP workforce now a plus

Willingness to work a part-time schedule that fits the needs of the business

Proven ability to successfully work with individuals at various levels of the organization

Business acumen - you understand what drives our business and see how HR programs can best support, and are seen as a credible resource to our local leadership team
