job descriptionPayroll Administratorjob summary:Medium-sized company just north of Norwood, MA is looking for a Payroll Administrator who will also be responsible for some support of the accounting functions, including but not limited to accounts receivable and accounts payable. Working knowledge of Ultipro is a requirement for this opportunity. This role will perform payroll and some financial and administrative services to ensure accurate and timely payment of employees' payroll. Experience with union payroll is a plus. Strong Excel skills, particularly pivots tables is required. This is a fast-paced environment and requires someone who thrives in an environment with tight deadlines and multiple responsibilities. Provide excellent customer service to employees across all functions of the company.

Demonstrate a strong customer service orientation including follow up on pending matters, proactive communication, and responsive attitude.

Work with managers to problem-solve payroll issues and payroll administration concerns.

Serve as first contact for payroll questions and concerns, escalating to Accounting Supervisor, as appropriate.

Under direction of Supervisor, create imports and prepare payroll using Ultipro, in accordance with established policies, procedures, and Federal, state, and local regulations.

Review and validate payroll information impacted by employment status changes including new hires, transfers, address changes, terminations and leaves of absence, as well as for changes in voluntary deductions, earnings and taxes.

Follow up with managers for timecard and PTO approvals, and exceptions.

Follow up on direct deposit exceptions.

Process wage garnishment requests.

Calculate off-cycle manual checks and reversals.

Run payroll reports.

Assist with payroll tax administrative duties, including new PA local jurisdiction setup.

Assist with audit requests.

Participate in quarter and year-end payroll processes, such as W-2 preparation.

Assist with payable and receivables, as needed.

Support month end, quarter ned and year end, as needed.

qualifications:EXPERIENCE:

Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree preferred

Minimum of 4+ years payroll experience, including garnishment and basic familiarity with payroll taxes. Ultipro is a requirement

4+ years of experience in accounting and working in A/R and A/P

Ability to maintain the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality regarding employee data

Ability and flexibility to work within strict deadlines. Though rare, overtime or schedule adjustments may be required to ensure adherence to payroll, W-2, and tax deadlines.

Able to maintain a pleasant and courteous manner using good interpersonal skills to promote a professional and friendly atmosphere for all employees

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Quick learner and self-starter who has the ability to work independently or within a team environment

Hands-on experience with Excel and Outlook

Experience with prioritizing and coordinating multiple tasks and deadlines

Strong communication, interpersonal, problem solving, attention to detail and analytical skills

Strong organizational skills

Strong sense of urgency and accountability

Flexible and positive approach to meeting changing priorities
