For more information, visit www.rfid.averydennison.comJob DescriptionThe Open Innovation Project Manager role is focused on supporting the external scouting of existing and new industries to assess trends and market strategies. This keeps in pace with leading innovations across multiple markets and understanding how they can inform and influence our business model. Additionally, this role aids in the established framework for innovation partnership development by which we engage with critical, external innovation collaborators - universities, start-ups, suppliers, brands, etc - and developing key projects associated with our innovation priorities.This role will work cross-functionally within the Product Line Management, Innovation, and Sustainability team, Marketing, Communications, Operations, and other internal groups. In this role, you will lead and facilitate projects with little direction by taking initiative, staying curious, and solving problems creatively. In your role as Open Innovation Engineer, delivering on these responsibilities is critical to success: Overall Innovation metrics tracking and reporting

Project management and support for major initiatives with external partnership projects

Use market intel and trends analysis to investigate opportunities that further build an ecosystem of partners

Technology deep-dive and critical business priorities scouting

Support various internal employee communications and scheduling

Drive innovation-related employee engagement programming

QualificationsEducation:

At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Materials and Logistics or related preferred.

Experience:

Ability to distill complex data into actions

Self-starter, takes initiative, and has an entrepreneurial spirit that is able to work independently and collaboratively

Ability to drive projects forward with organization within a grey space that doesn’t always provide targets and concise requirements for success

Ability to understand and create value; demonstrated track record developing and executing new business ventures

Demonstrated success in cross-regional and vertical projects/initiatives

Strong ability to explore and network in current and adjacent industries

Experience in planning and forecasting, with practical experience in researching new opportunities and implementing successful account penetration

Other:

2+ years related business experience, emphasizing sales, business development and marketing desired

Advanced business and financial acumen needed

Excellent organizational and people skills, project management skills, with an ability to openly convey information to team members in a timely, concise manner

Understanding of applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Office, Google Suite tools and function specific software.

Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills

Able to conduct research, prepare comprehensive reports and present complex statistical information in a clear and succinct fashion

Competency in objective setting and providing appropriate situational leadership to execute these strategies

Agile team environment

Travel expected at 20-30%
