Provide technical and non-technical support in the care and treatment of patients in the Emergency Department to patients of all ages, newborn through geriatric. Under the direction of authorized personnel, take vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respirations, oximetry, weight), collect specimens, assist patients to bathroom (ambulating, with cane, crutches or walker), position patients on stretcher and assist patient to/from vehicles as necessary. The ED Technician participates in the admission, transfer, and discharge processes, and assists in maintaining the cleanliness of the work area. The qualified person will convey and receive detailed or important instructions to and from patients, employees, volunteers, visitors and other clinical and non-clinical people continuously throughout the shift. Knowledge, Skills , Abilities, Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent and specialized training including a Graduate of a Certified Nursing Assistant Program or equivalent acute patient care experience. Multilingual skills a plus. Effective oral and written communication skills in the English language required with the ability to communicate with patients, families and coworkers effectively in fast paced, stressful environment. Licensure: BLS Certification (American Heart Association)
