Beitzel Corporation is now accepting applications for a full-time Roustabout/Construction Laborer. The Roustabout/Construction Laborer is responsible for supporting work within Oil and Gas Services, Construction Services and Excavation Services. The position is diverse and the job duties and job types may vary on a daily basis.
The Roustabout/General Laborer operates excavators, telehandlers, forklifts, along with construction power equipment and common and specialized hand tools. This position requires a mechanical aptitude and an interest in operating heavy equipment and performing labor within multiple trades to include, but limited to: concrete, pipe fitting, welding, fabrication, industrial construction, pipe insulation, demolition, etc. The scope of work may extend across multiple industries to include, but not limited to: Oil and Gas, Industrial Construction, Manufacturing, Power Plants, Commercial, Aggregate, Oil and Gas, Coal, etc.
The position will require a flexible schedule, with extensive travel and out-of-town and overnight work. It will also require extended work hours, weekend and holiday work as required. Typical areas of operations include, but are not limited to: MD, PA, OH, WV, VA, and NJ
Responsibilities
Must adhere to all company and customer safety rules and regulations with regard to Personal Protection Equipment and Safe Practices
Installation and maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems
Operate equipment to properly and expeditiously dispose of cuttings from Oil and Gas rigging operations
Operate equipment typically associated with Oil and Gas backyard operations and cuttings handling such as excavators, backhoes, telehandlers, forklifts, skid steer
Assist with on-site loading and unloading of Oil and Gas supplies and equipment
Fence installations, mowing grass, weed eating, painting, trash removal, etc.
Assist with general repair, maintenance and clean-up on Oil and Gas rigs as needed
Coordinate and partner with contractors and co-vendors to provide exceptional service and support to rig operations
Coordinate and communicate to Rig representatives to ensure that service is continuous and exemplary
Perform general labor to aid and support all operations within Beitzel Corporation to include but not limited to: Field Services, Crane Services, Fabrication, Machining, Special Projects, Construction Services, Electrical Services, Trucking and Transport, Equipment Maintenance and Repair
Qualifications
1 to 2 years of work experience in oil and gas applications, industrial construction or mechanical trades
Possess a proven history of mechanical aptitude, abilities and experience
Enjoy hands-on work with a willingness and ability to problem-solve and make repairs when able
Must be experienced and proficient in operating an excavator
Must be dependable, trustworthy, possess a positive attitude, and work well with others
Must possess proven experience and ability to excel in customer satisfaction and customer relations
Must be able to professionally represent yourself and your company at all times
Must have welding experience or training
Must be able to work and endure in extreme climates and weather conditions
Willing and able to work a flexible schedule that will include extensive travel with overnight stay, weekends, night shifts and holidays
Proven ability to work independently with minimum direction and supervision
Demonstrated history of Safety and Safety Awareness
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of heavy equipment operations and service experience
Excavation experience preferred but not required
Prior experience operating telehandler, forklift, man-lift and skid steers
Trade or technical training in heavy equipment, industrial trades, construction trades or mechanical trades
Rigging, lifting and signaling training or experience
CDL Class A with hazmat endorsement
SafeLand, PEC Confined Space, OSHA 10 and/or MSHA surface training
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver's license prior to employment
