The CUSV team has an immediate opening for an Electrical Engineering Manager to support our growing family of unmanned naval craft. Our teams are engaged in multiple cutting edge development programs for defense applications domestically and internationally. The strong candidate will possess a broad knowledge base in electrical engineering, system integration with proven performance across these disciplines. This role will include integration of vehicle power, communications, and control systems of unmanned craft and payloads.About This RoleWe believe people should love what they do – in an Electrical Engineering Manager role, you will be responsible for:

Providing technical leadership, functional leadership, and oversight of all activities of the USV Electrical Engineering team.

Overseeing electrical engineering tasks including (but not limited to):

oDC and AC power systems and distribution design; perform power load calculations.

Design of custom PCBs or other electrical assemblies

Design for EMI/RFI requirements; perform co-site analyses

Debug and repair electrical assemblies.

Create test and engineering analysis reports.

Develop specifications for computer architectures.

Design, specify, and execute unit level testing of electrical subassemblies and cables

Manage work flow and proper staffing supporting multiple product lines.

Develop and grow existing staff to include both internal hires and external consultants and experts.

Actively participate in the attraction, selection, retention, and development of top engineering talent.

Support proposals, prepare and approve cost estimates, interface with internal and external customers and suppliers.

Prepare and present engineering work products to internal review teams and external customers at program milestone reviews and as deliverable reports.

Generate Statements of Work and monitor outside contractor performance.

Serve as a mentor and technical resource to others within the department and the engineering organization.

Generate solid Basis of Estimates and manage Earned Value for design/development cost accounts as Cost Account Manager.

Provide technical direction to engineering staff and technicians of all disciplines.

QualificationsRequired Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering required; Master’s Degree preferred

Minimum 8 years related work experience, preferably at least 3 years in Naval design applications, preferably at least 3 years of experience in formal or informal supervisory role.

Experience with packaging and interconnection of electronics on a mobile platform

Navy or other defense experience as the candidate will be expected to work with product leaders in shaping our next generation investments in technology and product line expansion

Active Secret Clearance preferred; Ability to obtain Secret eligibility required

Ability to travel up to 25% of the time

Effective writing and presentation skills

Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Visio)

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with design in a corrosive environment

Experience with Electrical Engineering CAD (ie Zuken, ORCAD, Mentor Graphics)

Design according to Military Standards strongly preferred, with Navy specific applications

Experience in a DoD environment and model based systems engineering
