In an effort to limit physical contact as much as possible all interviews will be conducted via phone or virtual meetings (Zoom).Responsibilities
Support and reinforce the therapeutic treatment plan of clients by providing guidance and direction to residents in their daily living activities, while providing direction and guidance to other DCPs
Assume a leadership role among DCPs to support appropriate training of new DCPs and provide ongoing mentorship to existing DCPs
Demonstrate the work performance and behaviors that emulate a positive role model for other DCPs
Become trained as a trainer in the behavioral management program and co-lead trainings as scheduled
Provide mentorship and supervision of resident daily activities and behavior according to established guidelines and procedures
Ensure that residents adhere to daily schedules and activities established for the program, including school, therapy sessions, external appointments, etc
Demonstrate an acceptance and respectfulness toward diversity concerning commonalities and differences such as gender, race, age, culture, ethnicity, class, religion, disability and gender identity
Report to supervisor signs and symptoms potentially requiring intervention or referral (suicidal or violent tendencies, self-mutilation, eating disorders, etc.)
Act as liaison to the Youth Council and assist with executing action plans as identified by the Council and approved by management
Ensure resident safety and collaborate with co-workers to maintain an environment that is positive, respectful, clean and therapeutic
Ensure compliance with all health and safety procedures and protocols. Supervise fire and health inspections of the facility; document hazards and inform appropriate personnel of status
Coordinate proper documentation of all incidents that occur during shift under units and make necessary notifications as delegated
Act as resource and first responder for on-campus incidents and engage in therapeutic interventions and de-escalations per established policy and protocol
Facilitate completion of unit and campus rounds, ensuring that the physical environment remains safe and clean at all times and that problems are promptly reported
QualificationsEducation, Credentials and Experience
Requires a bachelor’s degree, a minimum of five years full-time experience working with youth or in a related human-services setting with one year at the Woodbourne Center, or ten years of total full-time experience working with youth in a mental health/human-services setting
Requires at least one year of experience as a supervisor or serving in an established lead role (staff in charge qualifies)
Valid driver’s license preferred and satisfy corporate insurance eligibility standards
