OverviewPACT’s World of Care is the only child care center in the Baltimore region for children who require daily nursing care. The center provides a nurturing, safe environment for children with a variety of medical conditions and abilities. At PACT’s medical child care center, children enjoy a state-of-the-art, accessible playground; indoor playrooms for active play throughout the year; adaptive equipment, and a multisensory room. In addition, special care is given to infection control to meet the needs of children with complex health conditions. PACT’s World of Care is fully licensed and accredited by the State of Maryland.The Child Care Aide I works under the immediate direction of the Child Care Teacher in the child care center providing child care and completing related tasks. The Child Care Aide I functions as a team member in providing total care of the children enrolled at World of Care.This position is located at our PACT location: 7000 Tudsbury Rd. Baltimore 21244Responsibilities

Works as a team member to provide a warm, nurturing environment, model and encourage developmentally appropriate practices as outlined by MSDE and the WOC Handbook and Philosophy Checklist Assist individual children and small groups with: developmentally appropriate activities, classroom strategies and therapy.

Prepare and assist with daily care of infants and toddlers with personal hygiene, sleeping, mealtimes, and playing.

Assist in daily maintenance of the environment and equipment for example: housekeeping, preparing art materials, preparing room decorations, and lunch and snack preparations.

Communicate with all team members, including nurses and therapists as necessary, to assure that parents/caregivers are receiving all information regarding their child’s daily progress, needs and concerns.

Read each child’s Child Care Plan before working with any child and ask for clarifying information as needed.

Participates on at least one WOC program committee.
