Ducas Construction is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join their growing crew of construction experts. The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for assisting the Project Manager in managing and coordinating all necessary project resources and documentation throughout the entire project lifecycle. The APM will assist with the day to day project management operations and provide support to the PM, and Superintendent who are ultimately responsible for managing risk, insurances, safety, general work performance and quality, and overall team progress against the project plan.

Assistant Project Manager Responsibilities:

- Review and track project status updates daily to PM and Superintendent

- Reviews invoices and bills as part of monthly subcontractor and owner pay application process.

- Submitting permits, organize, file and maintain all current project documents

- Provides a variety of regular reporting and analysis to the project team to communicate overall project status and profitability

- Identifies potential schedule impacts including scope, weather, manpower and changes, and facilitates mitigation plans for these impacts

- Manage competing priorities between Ducas business needs, organizational matters

- Leads overall project closeout process using best practice standards, tools and processes such as the close-out punch list, financials, sub contracts, warranties, etc.

- Provide support to field staff

- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

- Bachelors degree in related field preferred, equivalent relevant experience will be considered

- 2+ years experience in construction project management

- Experience with Sage 100 and On Screen Takeoff software is preferred

- Ability to apply fundamentals of the means and methods of construction management to projects

- Basic understanding of drawings and specifications

- Proactive in assisting PM with deliverables accurately and completely, and in a timely manner.

- Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, internally and externally.

- Possess judgment to know when to appropriately escalate issues up the chain of command

- Pleasant and confident demeanor when dealing with colleagues and clients

- Strong communication skills, including the ability to read, write, and speak English

- Efficient and well organized

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Must have valid drivers license and be insurable by the company
