The primary duty of this person is safe and efficient pruning or removal of various sized trees. Climbing duties may also include cabling and bracing.
Duties:
Safely and efficiently enter and work within trees with the assistance of climbing and rigging lines;
Safely and efficiently operate handsaws, pole saws, and chainsaws from the ground and aloft;
Perform all pruning, cabling and removals according to ANSI A300 Standards;
Operate trucks, chippers, stump grinders, and tractors as needed;
Operate aerial lift equipment when available.
Skills/Qualifications:
Possess all of the skills and training of a Grounds Specialist;
Posses a clean, current Maine driver's license (a CDL is encouraged);
Knowledge of ANSI A300 Standards;
Knowledge in tree and shrub identification;
Knowledge in hazard tree identification;
ISA certification or two-year related degree preferred, but not required;
A minimum of two-year's experience in all facets of pruning and removals preferred, but not required;
Able to lift 50 pounds.
