Helm Oyster Bar & Bistro is a new restaurant located on Portland, Maine’s Eastern Waterfront opening in August 2020. Helm is an upscale, bistro style restaurant featuring local and seasonal shellfish, seafood, produce, and meats. The bar focuses on natural wine, local craft beer, and classic cocktails.
We are currently looking to hire for FOH positions including a lead bartender, PM servers, and PM bartenders. Full-time is preferred but part-time is an option.
Helm is seeking applicants with a genuine passion for food, beverage, and hospitality. The ideal applicants will have positive, can-do attitudes, excellent communication and multitasking skills, self-direction while being able to work in a team environment, and a calm and cool demeanor while under pressure. Applicants must be available to work weeknights and weekends. Must be able to stand and walk entire shift and lift 25-50lbs at times. Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is preferred. A proficient and professional attitude and appearance is required.
Employees will be required to wear face masks while working during the COVID-19 crisis. The restaurant will adhere to social distancing requirements whenever possible but cannot guarantee it at all times of the shift.
