Helm Oyster Bar & Bistro is a new restaurant located on Portland, Maine’s Eastern Waterfront opening in August 2020. Helm is an upscale, bistro style restaurant featuring local and seasonal shellfish, seafood, produce, and meats. The bar focuses on natural wine, local craft beer, and classic cocktails.
We are currently looking to hire for BOH positions including PM Line Cook, PM Oyster Shucker, and PM Dishwasher.
Helm is seeking applicants with a genuine passion for food, beverage, and hospitality. The ideal applicants will have positive, can-do attitudes, excellent communication and multitasking skills, self-direction while being able to work in a team environment, and a calm and cool demeanor while under pressure. Applicants must be available to work weeknights and weekends. Position requires standing, bending, lifting, kneeling, and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is preferred.
Employees will be required to wear face masks while working during the COVID-19 crisis. The restaurant will adhere to social distancing requirements whenever possible but cannot guarantee it at all times of the shift.
