Position Summary:The Patient Service Representative I is a supporting position and is
responsible for a variety of activities related to patient in-take and
care. The Patient Services Representative I is generally the first
point of contact for patients entering the clinic. Activities may
include but are not limited to greeting and checking in patients,
verifying and updating patient information, scheduling patient
appointments, answering phones, updating demographic information, chart
preparation and other duties as assigned.Education & Experience Required:Patient Service Rep IMinimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required. Medical
terminology certificate or completion of medical terminology course
within 12 months of hire.Excellent written and verbal communication skills; a proficiency in
computer skills with a focus on the Microsoft Office Suite required.Experience Preferred:A minimum of one year of verifiable customer service experience
preferred; a minimum of one year of secretarial experience, preferably
in the medical field; a certificate of completion in medical terminology
preferred; knowledge of EMR (Electronic Medical Record) preferred.Other Skills Required:Must be self-directed to independently and successfully handle multiple
priorities. Must present a pleasant, friendly, approachable and
professional demeanor at all times. Must be able to speak and read
English clearly using correct grammar and vocabulary.Physical Requirements:Sitting, standing, reaching, bending, walking and stretching, hearing
/verbal/visual acuity, ability to keyboard for extended periods of time.Working EnvironmentThe Patient Service Representative I must be able to multi-task in a
busy, stressful, fast-paced clinic providing direct patient care. The
PSR I may spend a considerable amount of time in direct patient/customer
contact.
