JOB SUMMARYThe Certified Medical Assistant will assist with running patients in a very busy Practice. This will include greeting and assisting patients and families courteously; assisting administrative/office staff with phone call coverage, including daily tasks; prepping patients to be seen in the practice according to practice standards; and performing and documents results of point of care testing and appropriate interventions to practice standards. JOB REQUIREMENTSCertification through AAMA/RMA/CCMA (or must be obtained within 6 months of employment)BLS to be obtained within 30 days of employment Other Skills Required:Must possess strong interpersonal skills, be a team player and be consistent with the St. Joseph Healthcare MissionAbility to work effectively with clinical and non-clinical staff Flexibility, dexterity, visual acuity, hearing acuity, able to work sitting at work station, using keyboard, working in front of a video display monitor, moderate walking throughout facilityCandidate must be able to lift approximately 15 pounds unassisted. Reaching and stretching intermittently are required for assisting patients in the ambulatory setting.The CMA must possess the degree of total body strength and flexibility necessary to assist patients with transfers and mobility. The CMA must be able to lift approximately a 200 lb. patient with the help of several other health care workers. Patients are assisted in ambulating from the waiting room to exam rooms and back.
