Laboratory Technician - Long Term Temp15.00 per hourDescription:The Lab Technician is a non-licensed position, able to perform various basic laboratory procedures using laboratory equipment.Key responsibilities/essential functions include:

Read, understand and follow all SOPs related to discipline and adhere to all department rules and protocols.

Prepare buffers and reagents for production use per written work instructions, communicating issues to manager as they arise.

Implement and track end of month needs, Quality calendars, and daily needs within the site.

Ensure work orders are received and completed in a timely manner.

Perform clerical duties associated with reagent preparation and work flow tracking.

Track metrics and inform Manager of changes to work processes and metrics.

Perform the cleaning and maintenance of the lab equipment and housekeeping.

Fill out daily work records, order lab supplies, tracking Kanban cards and stock in labs.

Follow all PPE requirements and all safety regulations.

Unpack and log the dates of all laboratory supplies upon receipt and properly keep track of the stock for use.

Any other duties as assigned.

Quality Specific Goals:

Aware of and comply with the Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position

Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines

Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required

Ensures the QC processes are established and followed as required.

Ensures QI metrics are established and followed as required.

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Minimum of 1 year lab experience, may include educational labs.

General laboratory environment.

Adheres to Department Specific Safety Guidelines.

Standing, sitting, walking, bending, reaching, manual manipulation, and lifting up to 15 pounds.

All candidates must pass a color vision test

Adhere to department rules and protocols as well as company regulations.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Ability to communicate effectively and follow written and verbal instructions.

Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:

Laboratory terminology preferred.

Maintain a pleasant and cooperative relationship with co-workers and other departments
