Gauge and sample tanks to insure customer products meet specifications. Perform all work in strict accordance with company, environmental, health and safety policies and procedures. Essential duties and responsibilities: Assist in the loading / offloading of Tank Trucks and Railcars. Assist in connections within the facility and docks. Maintain a clean work environment. Assist in Squeegee operations. Identify Air / Water / Nitrogen and steam hoses and lines. Basic knowledge of check valves / bleed valves and regulators. Operate portable pumps. Properly label and record sample containers. Properly sample Trucks / Railcars / Tanks Etc. Properly secure and seal Trucks / Railcars / Containers Etc. Properly Purge / Blow / Pig product lines. Able to follow all instructions on the Plant Operating Orders. Complete all dates / times Etc. on the Plant Operating Orders. Assist in the “Return to service “checklist. Gauge Tanks / Trucks / Railcars / Containers. Apply steam to Tanks / Railcars Etc. Check and document Tank temps. Maintain a clean and safe work environment including but not limited to: proper storage of tools, hoses, and acid suits; cleanliness of work area; proper wear of all personal protective equipment and immediately containing and reporting any spills or unsafe conditions. Maintain a positive and professional atmosphere for all employees and visitors. Attend daily, weekly, and monthly safety meetings. Complete all required safety training and monthly refresher training. Perform all job duties in accordance with Federal, State, and Local Regulations. Follow all Kinder Morgan Policies and Procedures. Perform all job duties focusing in on Good Manufacturing Practices.   All other duties as assigned.Position RequirementsEducation: High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience/specific knowledge: At least six (6) months experience in liquid terminal operations or similar industrial setting. Previous experience with railcar, truck, ship, or barge loading and unloading. Certifications, licenses, and registrations: Ability to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credential) card. Competencies, skills, and abilities: Ability to effectively communicate, orally (face to face and by telephone) and in writing, in English with coworkers, contractors, government officials and Senior Management. Ability to read and understand written material (in English), including use and understanding of basic numerical calculations, safety rules and operations instructional guides and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Must have basic math skills; ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Ability to read and interpret documents. Physical demands: Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be willing to work in protected areas at heights up to 45 feet above ground. Must be able to reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. Must be able to hear and smell for deficiencies or hazards. Must be able to pass a respiratory fit test. Working conditions: Must be able to work in all weather conditions. Must be willing to work all shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed and required. Must be available to respond to call-out as assigned. Must be able to work over water (dock). Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisor, keep required work schedule, focus on attention to details, and follow work rules. Preferred education, experience, certifications, competencies, skills, and abilities: Previous chemical, refining, or terminaling experience is preferred. O.S.H.A. Certification not required, but a plus. Prior experience in pipeline operations and/or tank farm operations a plus, but not required. Prior experience in dock operations a plus but not required.
