Work with product and design teams to develop new ideas and explore new opportunities. Your opinion matters and you’ll have opportunities to have a say in how things are built out.
Architect and build your projects using Java and Kotlin - Must be fluent in Kotlin
Write code that is designed to be reusable and that can be shared amongst other teams.
Bring product and code improvement ideas to the team.
Be willing and able to learn new technologies and programming languages when the need to do so arises
Experience working with notifications and background tasks
Experience building embeddable software development kits for others to consume, as well as having knowledge about the pros and cons of SDK development.
Experience with creating custom components
Experience with complex or dynamic layouts in Android
Experience with localization and internationalization.
Familiarity with animation and shadows in Android.
Understanding of several things that are new and important for each API version in Android; i.e. what can you do in API 21+ that you cannot do in API 19.
Familiarity with Android test suites: MockK and junit, various UX tests
Experience using modern Android architectural components and lifecycle management: MVVM, View Model, Live Data, Data Binding, Room
You:
Care strongly about developing amazing user experiences.
Have 4+ years professional full time experience developing Android applications
Comfortable working with Android Studio or other comparable IDE of your choice and be willing to learn Kotlin in addition to any Java work you might have.
Excited about the opportunity to explore new technologies and programming languages when the need arises.
Enjoy working as part of a diverse team
Extra Credit:
Experience with ML Kit or other Machine Learning frameworks
Experience with ARCore or other Augmented Reality frameworks.
Experience building custom components in addition to composing components together
Previous experience gamifying an application.
