Provides direct physical and psychological care in emergencies
Provides direct primary, preventative and therapeutic nursing care appropriate to the age of patients served.
Performs minor surgical and invasive procedures such as suture of lacerations (not involving nerves or tendons) and incision and drainage of abscesses
Documents essential history information and physical exam components that support the derived diagnosis and appropriate treatment plan as reviewed
Demonstrates sense of judgment by appropriate counseling, referrals and orders as documented on the record
Orders and interprets diagnostic testing appropriately; refers abnormal results to physician for review when necessary
Effectively collaborates with other providers and support staff as necessary to provide consistent care to patients
Ensures adequate patient health records are maintained and confidentiality is maintained as per HIPAA regulations
Attends 80% of clinic staff meetings
Maintains updated collaborative practice agreement as needed
Prescribes medications within scope of practice
Practices independently
Fulfills responsibility for job assignments according to accrediting and regulatory guidelines in a manner consistent with hospital corporate compliance plan
Performs all other departmental duties and responsibilities not listed in job description as requested by department supervisor and / or members of administration
QualificationsWhat You Will Need:
Maintains professional licensure of a APRN in the state of Kentucky
Maintains current good standing with Kentucky Board of Nursing
Maintains current CPR certification
Must possess valid DEA license if practicing more than one year (will have 30 days from first anniversary date of hire to obtain a DEA license)
