Eurofins is searching for a Maintenance Technician III in Louisville, KY.
Maintenance Technician III responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Assume all responsibilities of Maintenance Technician II position.
Perform several tasks simultaneously (multitasking).
Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments and may oversee the activities of other individual contributor personnel.
Understand the workflow and prioritize the daily work efficiently in respect of it.
Provide training of new maintenance personnel in conjunction with Maintenance Manager
Improve procedures by modifying, updating and creating WI's to troubleshoot and/or maintain lab equipment
Analyzes results and develop test specifications independently
Prepare technical reports with recommendations for solutions to technical problems
Participate in special projects and the introduction of new processes from Process Development
Specifies and requests purchase of components
Communicates with third parties/contractors in order to keep facility environment safe and productive
Suggest improvements where applicable
Strictly adhere to company health, safety and regulatory policies, including correct handling of Hazardous Materials and wearing proper PPE (personal protective equipment).
Be prepared to work overtime on any shift or weekends if requested.
Completes successfully all on-site training programs in a timely manner.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate would possess:
Awareness of process flow and parameters in given work area, and ability to recognize when process is not functioning according to expectations
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Experience in maintenance and repair of the majority of laboratory equipment such as liquid handlers, HPLC s, Mass Specs, synthesis robots and other commercial and in house designed robots
Experience in maintenance and repair of infrastructure equipment such as central vacuum system, compressed air supply, generator
Proven ability to follow written and oral instructions.
Ability to perform under pressure of a fast paced production environment
Must be highly motivated, organized, effective and flexible.
PC-based computer literacy, including in Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, and internal lab applications (E2, LIMS).
Proven ability to work well with a team with little supervision.
2-4 years previous maintenance experience with the company.
Proficient in working with general laboratory equipment.
Proficient in working with Hazardous Chemicals.
Initial RCRA training
Annual RCRA awareness training
Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) initial 24 hour training and annual 8 hour refresher training.
Hazardous Materials Transport DOT required every three years
Basic Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related degree concentration
Previous experience working in an ISO-9000 or cGMP environment
Ability to lift 35+ pounds
Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
Position is full-time, Tuesday-Saturday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Louisville, Kentucky are encouraged to apply.
