Maintenance Technician

Job Description

For the self-starter who sweats the small stuff, isn't afraid to get their hands dirty, and understands there is “no job too small, or too big”.

This job will keep you on your feet providing preventative maintenance to conveyors, industrial lift trucks and warehouse equipment along with doing everything from painting, lighting maintenance, and cleaning, to overseeing contractors and coordinating with outside vendors.

• Maintain a clean and safe working environment for all staff
• Responsible to perform both scheduled services and non scheduled maintenance tasks including but not limited to:
  • Conveyance systems, including spiral and vertical reciprocating conveyors
  • Pneumatic conveyor systems
  • Industrial Lift Trucks
  • Lighting maintenance
  • Office cleanliness and basic janitorial support
  • Painting touch ups
  • Replacing damaged ceiling tiles
  • Cardboard balers
  • Addressing clogged drains
• Maintain and troubleshoot motors, photo eyes, relays, proximity sensors, motor starters, continuous belts
• Execute Preventive Maintenance programs
• Be available for off hour support
• Provide weekly equipment safety checks
• Tracking maintenance schedules
• Frequent building walk-throughs to ensure everything is in its place
• Assist with safety and security procedures
• Keep public areas clean and orderly
• New hire desk set-ups and inter office move assistance
• Ad hoc projects as assigned

Qualifications

• Have a commitment to Comoto’s Core Values
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Have attended Votechnical/Trade Education (preferred)
• Have a Minimum of 2 years experience as a Mr. or Ms. Fix-it
• Be Digitally savvy - must be able to handle a web app based ticketing system and multiple communication platforms.

• Be Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple tasks
• Communicate effectively, in writing and verbally
• Be able to work a schedule outside of normal business hours when needed

Have a working knowledge of building upkeep and maintenance

Additional Information

• Typical warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures on a regular basis
• Concentrated mental and visual attention with a high degree of manual dexterity and visual attention for sustained periods
• Requires continuous physical activity including walking, standing and sitting for long periods of timeand the ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs continuously
• Must have ability to drive a 14' box truck
• Comfortable using ladders, scissor-lifts and order pickers
• Works in accordance with general safety rules and practices
• Keeps immediate work area clean and free from hazards
