Voice Captioner for TV (Lexington)

Kentucky, Lexington 00000 Lexington USA

Vacancy caducado!

Ever wonder where those captions on your television screen come from when you activate the closed-captioning option on your remote? Well, believe it or not, living, breathing human beings are responsible for most of the captions on those newscasts and live TV shows you love to watch! Captioners, meaning us mere mortals who create those captions, do so in a studio setting where we listen to a program's audio through headphones, and actually repeat what is spoken as verbatim as possible. It's called echoing. Think you can do that? Try it the next time you’re watching a program, or listening to a podcast by repeating every word the speaker says.

We call this job "Live Voice Writing." Here's why. "Live" because most of the programming we cover is live in real-time. "Voice" because you are speaking for the duration of a program. And "Writing" because your voice is essentially writing captions that appear on the viewer's screen. So, this is NOT a writing job in the traditional sense. Still with me?
