Earth Tools, Inc. Service Department is seeking applicants for a Full-Time mechanic position.
We are a small-to-midsize business (15 employees) located halfway between Frankfort and Owenton KY. We sell and service specialized small-scale agricultural / professional gardening tools and equipment; see our website at earthtools dot com.
We are an unusual business in that we are actually honest, fair and reasonably priced to our customers, plus we take care of our employees as best we can afford to. Furthermore, we have a solar-powered facility with a composting toilet and a rainwater-catchment system utilizing gravity-flow to the sinks, and we donate a portion of our profits to non-profit environmental organizations, because the planet needs taking care of too, and not many other businesses are doing their part. (Yes, this place is owned by a tree-hugger.)
This job involves getting your hands dirty, oily and greasy; we're talking about rebuilding small engines and gearboxes. (We keep plenty of citrus-based hand cleaner around, though!) We provide a "clothing stipend" (extra pay) to service department employees to help them deal with the wear and tear on clothes. We have a generous PTO policy and we currently offer a year-end bonus as well. (NOTE: If you have drug or alcohol issues or like to take advantage of your employer, don't bother applyingI've been through all that nonsense with employees in the past. I take good care of my employees if they are honest and are willing to work.)
