Position InformationJob DescriptionVirginia Military Institute (VMI) is seeking an assistant manager for the VMI Laundry. The VMI Laundry is a commercial-sized operation providing both laundry and dry cleaning services for over 1700 cadets in the VMI Corps of Cadets. The Laundry maintains a fleet of trucks and trailers, collects cadet laundry twice per week, processes it, and returns clean laundry every Friday throughout the academic year. Assistant Laundry Managers report directly to the VMI Laundry Manager, and assist in the supervision of a workforce consisting of 28 full-time state employees and several part-time employees. Assistant managers routinely interface with peer managers in the Quartermaster Department and the VMI Tailor Shop in a team approach to the acquisition, repair, care and cleaning of all cadet uniforms.
