We are looking for a skilled cook to prepare delicious meals Tuesday-Friday (lunch only) along with preparing lunches and dinner every Mondays during the school year.
The successful candidate must be able to follow instructions in cooking and delivering well-prepared meals for large groups. Must be able to move around the kitchen and capable of multi-tasking. Having the experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is also important.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: collaborate with the House Director in planning meals,; maintain accurate food inventories and place orders with a food delivery company, as needed; properly store food items at appropriate temperatures; ensure that the food prep area and the kitchen is clean at the end of your shift; and prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling potatoes, cutting meat, etc).
Cooking Skills: food service experience is preferred; ability to read and follow standardized recipes; a strong knowledge of proper food handling and storing procedures; the ability to work well independently and as a team player; very good time management skills; good communication skills; excellent physical condition and stamina; and the ability to set your own hours to ensure meals are ready and served at a specific time.
