Assist in the Laboratory function of the job as it relates to specimens and slides for Histoprep functions. This includes:
Receiving and processing histology samples using LabCorp standard practices to include verifiying the specimen collected is correct and matches the requisition and the patient.
Log the patient and testing information into the computer and assign the specimen a case number.
Acts as a liaison between pathologists, clients, and LabCorp in regards to sample processing and corresponding inquiries and clarifications.
Administrative duties including: answering telephones, and maintaining speadshets, logs, and records.
Requirements
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent
1-2 work experience, preferably in a lab setting but not required
Prior coursework in biology or anatomy is preferred
An organized, professional, detailed oriented individual with effective communication skills, ability to work independently within a fast paced team environment.
Proficent with computers including strong data entry skillsdata entry test is given at the time the online application is completed.
