Position Summary: The Cath Lab data coordinator performs clerical functions in the invasive and non-invasive cardiology department. These duties include inputting accurate and timely coding and reimbursement data into the required registries for the cath lab and the trauma registry for the ED, chart audits, management of contracts, and scheduling of cath lab procedures when necessary.Essential Functions:
Inputs and maintains accurate data according to American College of Cardiology and CMS guidelines for appropriate reimbursement for CARE and ICD.
Completes daily procedures for billing and patient accounts.
Creates quarterly reports for cardiologists with current data and feedback for Quality Improvement processes.
Maintains patient information logs and records, makes ID/allergy/DNR bracelets and verifies accuracy.
Provides clerical support to the department such as processing mail, answering phone, maintaining office supplies, document preparation, transcribing and attending meetings.
Activates emergency codes quickly/accurately and monitors warning light panels.
Assembles and maintains patient charts upon admission and files chart after discharge.
Transports patient according to policy by safely and accurately identifying needs and notifying patient of instructions.
