We are looking for a highly driven individual that will coordinate communication and guidelines for pole products produced on site and work with vendors, customers, etc. to identify and develop quality assurance actions plans and procedures. Perform a variety of statistical processing control (SPC) measuring, data gathering and analysis
Observe operating activities throughout all product areas; making recommendations, developing action plans and following up to ensure that action plans are effectively implemented
Represent the quality assurance department on task force committees related to continuous improvement activities
Develop policies and procedures for inspection and processing of various manufactured and purchased products
Provide additional Q.A. support to areas as determined by the Quality Supervisor
Provide training to support departmental needs
Coordinate inspections with external inspection agencies
Fill in for Q.A. Inspectors during vacations or absence
Provide Q.A. technical assistance to the other Valmont Manufacturing locations
Actively participate in department safety, demonstrate excellent safety practices and behaviors which conform to all Valmont safety policy and procedures
What it takesRequired Qualifications
High School diploma or GED equivalent
Two years of additional education or relevant experience, with at least six months in a welding or inspection environment
Level II UT and MT certifications or be able to obtain Level II certifications within 12 months
Strong working knowledge of excel including the ability to create tracking matrices
The ability to perform basic math functions such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing
The ability to accurately use and read a tape measure, thread gauges, micrometer, protractor, and dial calipers
One year of previous experience operating hand and/or power tools
The ability to work effectively and efficiently with plant employees, supervisors, management, and customers
The ability to pay attention to detail and follow work instructions
The ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment
Must have a high awareness for safety at all times
The ability to lift up to 50 pounds
The ability to stand up to 95% of the shift
Highly qualified candidates will also possess:
Minimum 6 months’ of experience in Quality in a manufacturing environment
American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector certification (CWI)
The ability to work timely and expeditiously to deliver an on-time result without errors
The ability to prioritize work in order to complete deadlines
Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results
The ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment
Must have a high awareness for safety at all times
