Position Title: Accounting Assistant

Wage: $15/hr.

Shift: 1st

Hours: 7:30am-4pm

If you are looking for a career opportunity at a company where you can make a difference, consider applying with us for this position! We are hiring for an Accounting Assistant in Waverly, IA. This is a temp to hire Accounting Assistant position on 1st shift.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Support day to day business operations by providing exceptional customer service, including promptly answering and directing phone calls, handling general inquires, receiving visitors, distributing mail, preparing outgoing mail, forwarding messages to appropriate staff members to meet UEA customer and business demands

- Coordinate customer invoicing by working closely with customer service and customers to ensure their profiles are set up accurately; follow up on aged A/R and submit statements to late paying customers

- Ensure A/P invoices are printed, organized, and entered into Syteline on a timely basis

- Monitor and order office supplies, as needed or requested, organize and file paperwork, enter data, prepare reports and execute other duties as assigned

- Other projects and duties as assigned by the Controller

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent; A.A. in Business Administration, Customer Service, or related field is preferred

- Minimum of 2 years of combined experience or education in customer service or office support

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office

- Experience using multi-line phone system and entering accounts payable preferred

- Strong customer service; listening, written, and oral communication skills to effectively collect and disseminate information with callers, visitors, customers, and employees at all levels of the organization

- Strong computer, typing, and successful multi-tasking ability

- Professionalism, time management, organization, and prioritization skills

- Must be able to successfully work under time and budgetary pressures

- Regularly sit, walk, talk, stand, bend, and hear (with mechanical assistance if necessary)

- Utilize specific vision abilities, including near vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus to perform the essential requirements of the position

- Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently; communicate clearly on technical and business levels while maintaining professional conduct is essential
