Applicants will be prompted to complete the following questions as part of the application materials:

Describe your most rewarding experience in education.

List speaking engagements, memberships, elected or appointed non-educational leadership positions.

What do you consider to be the two most significant educational problems or issues today? Why do you consider them significant?

Write a brief statement on your philosophy of the function of a comprehensive community college.

Qualifications: BSN required; MSN preferred. Current RN license from Iowa or from a state recognized by Nurse Licensure Compact. Three years work experience as a nurse required. Two years work experience in acute medical/surgical areas within the last three years. Must be willing to instruct in multiple clinical areas.

Possess current knowledge, skills, and certification to insure the safety and security of instructor and students.

Conduct effective instruction focus on application of learning.

Provide clinical instruction to support and enhance classroom instruction.

Complete weekly evaluation forms in relation to student clinical performance.

Work with other faculty/staff as assigned to correct clinical-related assignments and maintain proper student record keeping.

Maintain collaborative relationships with assigned agency staff members.

Maintain compliance with agency requirements as designated by Division Chair; inclusive of but not limited to current CPR, current immunizations, mandatory reporting, and competency validation.

Participation in the ongoing review and evaluation of the program in accordance with the Iowa Department of Education, North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, Iowa Board of Nursing, and Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).

Attend program meetings as schedules allow.

Provide weekly conference time with students by being available at clinical site 1/2 hour before and after clinical assignment times.

Perform in a manner which strengthens the coordination and cooperation of all organizational components of the College, including opportunities for student recruitment.
