Job Description:
We are searching for a sales associate to join our team at Honest Johns Trading Post in Galena, IL. Honest Johns is a family-owned business with forty years of history located on Galenas Historic Main Street.
We are looking for an energetic and motivated individual that is great with people and sales. Qualified candidates must be ready to interact with, tend to, and help customers on a daily basis. A positive attitude and a cheerful personality are a must. From comfort shoes to wall decorations, our store carries a variety of merchandise; we train our staff to answer customers questions with knowledge and confidence. Off the sales floor, qualified candidates must be ready to check-in, price, and organize merchandise to maintain a tidy and attractive sales floor.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Greet customers at the door
Answer general and specific questions about store products and merchandise brands
Maintain a tidy appearance of the store; this includes cleaning (vacuuming, dusting, etc), organizing floor moves, and regularly updating the placement of merchandise
Build rapport with customers by providing a friendly and informative shopping experience
Check in, price, and organize new merchandise
Maintain and provide upkeep to back stocked merchandise
Work the register and credit card terminal accurately and efficiently
Be able to work effectively as a team
Be familiar with standard business opening and closing procedures
Be reliable and prompt
Be available to work weekends and evenings
