This department is responsible for the development and sustainment of state of the art avionics hardware products including integrated processing cabinets, displays, video processing modules, and control panels used in military fighter, fixed wing, and rotary wing aircraft platforms.Our products employ the following technologies and interfaces; Airborne Electronic Hardware including FPGAs and ASICs. PowerPC, Intel, and ARM embedded processing resources. Avionics interfaces including ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, and Ethernet. Video interfaces including SMPTE, DVI, and DisplayPort.Responsibilities include top level product development, circuit card and sub-level module development, product qualification, product transition, and product sustainment over the life cycle of the design. The Staff Electrical Engineer role also has opportunities for project engineer control account management (PE/CAM), and has high expectations for leadership within a design team, and communication to our internal and external customers.The position must have requirements include:

US Citizenship or Green Card holder

Hardware requirement generation experience working with systems and subsystems teams to determine meaningful and testable requirements for the design

Experience working with standard lab equipment for integration testing of hardware designs

Ability to work collaboratively with team members and independently on assigned tasks.

Experience in the following areas is required:

Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Equivalent from an ABET accredited university

Schematic capture of digital/analog mixed signal electrical circuit designs

Printed board (PWB) layout

Interfacing with complex embedded devices (microprocessors, graphics processors, memory)

Basic Qualifications:This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 7 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience.In the absence of a degree, 11 years of relevant experience is required.At Collins, the paths we pave together lead to limitless possibility.
