The ideal candidate is one who is familiar with the hardware design and development lifecycle and who has a passion for problem solving and satisfying stakeholder needs. This role is part of a team who serve internal customers through the delivery of improvements to the global engineering design ecosystem and helps provide compelling gains to the consistency, efficiency, and productivity of product development efforts at Collins Aerospace.The successful candidate will have many of the following skills/experience:
Competent working and systems knowledge of CAD software (Mentor, Zuken or equivalent)
Competent working and troubleshooting knowledge of Windows 10 and MS Server OS)
Ability to resolve complex issues with Windows 10, Windows Server, registries, and CAD software
Platform performance and availability monitoring
Software tools integration, writing and debugging custom scripting experience
Some capacity planning, workload modeling, system maintenance
Experience or be familiar with the following: System and Software Architecture; Modular Open Systems Architecture (MOSA); Model-Based System Design (MBSD); Agile System Development Lifecycle; MATLAB, Jira or equivalent tools; working on a mid-size to large program with a significant set of requirements; in-depth knowledge of Lockheed Martin processes and procedures, including System and Software Engineering Metrics; Control Account Management (CAM); Earned Value Management (EVM); Proposal Development
Able to collaborate with IT and business personnel to manage problem resolution effectively
Very strong troubleshooting / problem solving skills
Critical thinking and the execution of good judgement
Experience capturing requirements to fit both out-of-box and custom configurations
Solid written and verbal communication skills. Can effectively communicate business and technical information across the organization.
Positive attitude and eager to learn and improve
Works well with others in a highly collaborative environment
Good organizational skills
Responsibilities include:
Administration of current PDM systems. This may include customization, data migration, as well as integration with business ERP systems.
Administration of MS Windows Servers and MS SQL Database
Level 3 tech support of CAD tools for Engineers worldwide
Support tools utilized by hardware engineering (electrical and/or mechanical engineering)
Support and develop solutions that improve productivity and effectivity of electrical and/or mechanical engineers
Provide consultation and direct technical support in one or more of the following: life cycle planning, problem management, integration, or systems programming.
Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation, and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity.
Ensures platform performance and availability meet enterprise objectives through monitoring, timely service restoration, and tuning with minimal supervision or assistance.
Lead interdisciplinary discussions between Hardware, Reliability, Firmware teams to define and drive scope and clarity of work.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in appropriate discipline or six years of related experience
Familiarity with hardware (electrical/mechanical) design and development
Software development experience
US Citizen/permanent resident
