Moehl Millwork is currently seeking a Door Shop Associate. Located in Ankeny, IA
The Door Shop Associate must be able to distinguish wood species and the various wood characteristics and defects. They must be able to operate and understand the various woodworking equipment and their limitations and expectations.
The candidate must be able to see and identify color, for the various colors of rubber, which is defined with the order, and to identify the door stop that will be prefinished before shipping. A general knowledge of basic machining and construction methodologies and practices and the ability to apply these requirements are mandatory.
Candidates should be team oriented and adhere to a continuous improvement environment.
Read a tape measure accurately and effectively
Read and understand work instructions
Identify color of rubber for the order and if material was to be prefinished before the rubber application
Make dimension stock to specified work instructions and CAD drawings
Color match wood
Distinguish the various species of wood and their characteristics
Set up and operation of the various woodworking machinery
Communicate issues or suggestions for improvements
Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Follow company processes and procedures
Adhere to safety specifications
Millwork Machine Operation tasks
Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed or assigned
