Job Description:Role Summary/Purpose: This role, a member of Synchrony Financial (SYF) Legal Operation, reporting to the SVP, Chief Cyber Security, Privacy & Sourcing, is responsible for the effective negotiation and documentation of product and service procurement agreements for existing and new vendors (will negotiate directly with vendor’s counsel).Essential Responsibilities: Various sourcing agreements, including hardware, software and technical outsourcing, consulting and development services, serving SYF’s businesses and functions such as finance, marketing, business development, risk, operations, compliance, legal and security (data and physical) Effectively support cross-functional teams through the RFI, RFP and other applicable sourcing processes: including requirements definition, bid/negotiations, contract documentation and integration, ensuring appropriate approvals are obtained at each tollgate. Support sourcing template standardizations and localizations Develop and support negotiation strategies with suppliers and establish strong contractual relationships – including clear statements of work and underlying software license, framework purchase, and outsourcing and/or professional services legal agreements. Contract management and compliance Handle legal escalations due to service delivery/quality issues and invoicing/payable issues, etc. Support supplier risk management assessments, monitoring and process execution Assist in implementing and revising and sourcing compliance policies Execute on special projects as required within the team Support customer and business cost reduction initiativesQualifications/Requirements: JD from accredited law school and 10+ years of legal experience Demonstrated expert knowledge and command of outsourcing and commercial law, with a minimum of five years’ practice in at least two of the above areas, preferably in both law firm and in-house positions Must be a member in good standing of the applicable bar Demonstrated experience and strength with contract drafting and negotiation Strong process experience & orientation – organized and results-oriented For Internal Applicants: Understand the criteria or mandatory skills required for the role, before applying.
